　　Beijing Daxing International Airport embraced its first test flight, as a plane for inspection landed steadily at the West One Runway at 10:10 am on Tuesday. It means the construction of Daxing Airport will enter the acceptance and handover stage.

　　22日10时10分，随着一架测试机稳稳地降落在西一跑道上，北京大兴国际机场第一场校验任务圆满完成，标志着大兴国际机场工程建设即将进入验收移交阶段。

　　据新华社报道，此次飞行校验工作从1月22日开始，计划于3月15日结束，持续时间近2个月。

　　整个校验内容包括4条跑道，6套仪表着陆系统，7套灯光，1套全向信标及测距仪和飞行程序。飞行校验完成后，意味着大兴国际机场飞行程序和导航设备具备投产通航条件。

　　按计划，这个投资额近800亿元（an 80 billion yuan 保定一线 project）的新机场将在今年9月30日正式投入运营，届时将成为全世界面积最大的机场，而北京也将拥有两座国际机场。

　　为什么修建这座机场呢？因为首都机场太累了。

　　据北京发改委副主任（deputy head of the Beijing Commission of Development and Reform）崔小浩称：

　　“More than 100 million passengers used Beijing Capital International Airport last year, which is close to its capacity. The new airport will ease pressure on the existing one, giving it a chance to improve its facilities and service.”

　　“首都机场2018年旅客吞吐量已突破1亿人次，处于超饱和的运行状态，新机场将减轻现有的首都机场的负担，使其能够有条件改善其设备和服务。”

　　新机场开通后将大大减轻首都国际机场的负担

　　据中国日报转引中国民航局的信息报道，新机场建成后将逐步扩大载客能力：

　　The new airport is designed to handle 45 million passengers annually by 2021 and 72 million by 2025. There are long-term plans to expand the number to 100 million.

　　根据计划，新机场在2021年将有能力每年接待4500万人次，到2025年达到7200万人次。长期的计划是将旅客吞吐量再进一步扩张至一亿。

　　据北京建工集团，新机场的航站楼（terminal buildings）将采取展翅的凤凰的形状，充满各种中国风的元素：

　　The airport's terminal buildings, covering an area of 313,000 square meters, will consist of a centerpiece and five arms resembling a phoenix spreading out its wings... The design of the five wings will use images from Chinese culture such as silk, tea, porcelain, farmland, and Chinese gardens.

　　机场的航站楼面积达31.3万平方米，由五个臂状延伸和一个中心结构构成，样子就像展翅的凤凰……五支“翅膀”的设计将采用充满中国风的意象，如丝绸、茶叶、瓷器、农田和园林等。

　　不仅好看，而且方便！

　　独特的中心向外辐射的造型也巧妙地提高了机场的效率：

　　The distance from the far-end of each wing to the center building will be less then 600 meters, a design that distinguishes the airport from most large international airports that inevitably require commuters to walk long distances.

　　从中央到翼状结构的最远端的距离不到六百米，这种设计和大多数的大型国际机场不同，其他机场难免要让乘客走很远的路。

　　新航站楼的辐射结构

　　根据新机场办公室的消息，因为周边的交通网络十分发达，从北京市区、通州区中心和雄安新区到新机场仅需半个小时！至于周边的石家庄、唐山、保定和天津等地，也只需一小时的时间。

　　不仅方便，而且绿色环保！

　　据北京发改委称，新机场所用的能源至少10%都是可再生的（renewable），将是全国机场中可再生能源使用水平最高的。

　　Photovoltaic solar energy panels have been fitted on roofs of the parking lots and business jets hangar, while geothermal energy will be used in the airport's service facilities.

　　停车楼顶和公务机库应用了太阳能光伏发电设施，飞行区服务设施将采用地热能源。

　　新机场也将带动整个京津冀地区的发展。崔小浩称：

　　机场位置在京津冀腹地，飞到北京大兴国际机场可以很方便地通达京津冀各个城市。
